Mai Re began the way most things worth keeping do - quietly, without announcement. A grandmother's masala tin, passed to a mother, passed again. The recipes were never written down because they did not need to be.

What we sell today is the continuation of that practice. We source directly from growers we know by name, and we insist on small batches, on stone-grinding, on quality that you can actually taste.
